Ian Guest qualified at South Staffs and won the Harry Vardon trophy

On a sizzling day in Staffordshire a full field of 120 golfers competed to win the prestigious Harry Vardon trophy.

A tight result saw home member Ian Guest beat Neil Shinebaum from Calderfields by a narrow margin of one shot with his nett 69.

Ian has now qualified through to SFG Qualifying School at Celtic Manor on Monday 26th October and has the chance to qualify for Team SFG in the SFG Challenge Cup Final.

1st: 69 - Ian Guest (SSGC)

2nd: 70 - Neil Shinebaum (Calderfields G.C.C.)

3rd: 72 - Howard Percival (SSGC)

4th: 72 - Mark Guy (SSGC)

5th: 73 - Keith Fletcher (Coventry Hearsall G.C.)

6th: 73 - Adam White (SSGC)
