Stuart Watts from Hoebridge Golf Centre wins the SFG qualifier at The Oxfordshire in dramatic style at the 18th hole

1st - Stuart Watts (7) - Hoebridge Golf Centre - 35 points (on countback)

2nd - Ross Granger - Drumpellier - 35 points

3rd - Mrinal Madina - Finchley - 34 points

Wind and water is a great combination if you are a sailor not a golfer!

However that was the prospect for those that travelled from far and wide to face howling winds, what appeared to be oceans at times and pin flags horizontal in the gusting winds at the fantastic venue that is The Oxfordshire.

The Course record holder Jeremy Robinson was on hand to start them whilst offering words of encouragement on the first tee and his words of “anyone playing to their handicap will come close “ were proved correct when the winning score was posted by Stuart Watts from Hoebridge Golf Club coming in one off his handicap of seven. He narrowly defeated Ross Grainger from Drumpellier on count back with an event winning approach to the last!

In third was Mrinal Madina from Finchley GC who along with the other competitors thoroughly enjoyed a great day and promised to be back to attempt to make qualifying school.

Jeremy, seen giving out the prizes was impressed with the attitude of the golfers commenting “that its how it should be, here to play golf, not just for a stroll around the course”.
